And so therefore, I learned the difference between FUN RUN and FUN HIKE!

The younger boys wanted to go for a Fun Run and I chanced upon 42RaceAsia's Sesame Street Christmas Quest Run. Checked with the boys if they wanted to go and they did.

Each pax was $39.90 so I had their Dad to pay for Lil' Baby aka Papao's fees and I paid for mine as well as 막내.

Oh! It's 막내's first run by the way. And the boys were excited because they had each other, forgetting all about me huh!

Brought along both boys including their niece Syazira Aryssa and off we went to collect the Quest Pack. Nothing much, just some brochures and sunscreen with the most important items; T-Shirt plus tags. No bibs this time but tags.

Aryssa was so well behaved that day, my granddaughter by the way. She so cute and so sweet! Our first outing with her though. Hehehe. And she stayed over for the weekend after.

• D-DAY •

The boys were so excited the night before and had their stuffs packed including water bottles (froze half bottle).

D-day came and they woke up as early as 5.30am because I told them we'll need to leave by 7am as we're taking the train over. We rarely took the train so 막내 was much more excited unlike Papao (he thinks he's too old for such excitement).

Off we went, walking to the MRT, took the North-South Line and changed to the Circle Line. I didn't get lost because I used to work at Sentosa and it's the same route, so I memorized it already. Hehehe. Naaaah~~~ I just didn't want to look dumb infront of my boys.

Duh!

Kidding!

Both actually, if you get it.

Upon arrival, the flag off for our timing already started but luckily they did it in batches.

So we had to scan the QR code to start the race; my battery was at 65% because I FORGOT TO CHARGE MY PHONE THE NIGHT BEFORE INCLUDING MY JISULIFE FAN! I even forgot my towel and water bottle. Hahahaha.

And boom! I was then informed per person, per phone to redeem the medal at the end of the race because we have to do the quest on the mobile to complete and receive the medal.

I was like, HELL NO! YOU GUYS BETTER DO SOMETHING BECAUSE WE PAY FOR THE KIDS EVEN AND IT'S SOMETHING THEY WERE LOOKING FORWARD TO, THEIR MOTIVATION!

Told them that in their information section, only those who complete the game and have the tags can redeem the medal. There was no information stating that it was to be done on mobile as it was an online game.

Then they asked around to other staffs and one came by suggesting once we reach the Final Point, look for her and she'll get something done then. I said okay and we went to start our game race.

We followed the people infront of us and opps! I forgot how high and far the MARANG TRAIL was from the bottom. YES! We started from the Marang Trail and up to Henderson Waves okay!!!

I was already dying and breathless halfway the Marang Trail, my legs were sore, my butt was sore, my liver was in pain. Yes, liver! Fatty liver issues. Tsk! I'm trying, surviving! Thank you!

I've never wanted to have a seat during a run because I know I will be lazy once I have a seat but this time round, I HAD TO because honestly, I had wanted to give up. But looking at how the boys were so excited and happy, I just had to persevere and move forward eventhough it was painful.

Up we went and we arrived at the view point. We received fans and stickers. So we sat and made our fans, took photos, complete the tasks and continued up to Faber Peak.

We went on and on until we saw a vending machine! I was thirsty and needed a booster BUT isotonic drinks were out of stock. WHY! WHY! WHY! Settled for Coconut Drink and the boys filled up their bottles at the water cooler.

WENT UP AGAIN to the Merlion for the second last task and I look so stupid looking down at the floor in front of the Merlion for the answer when I gave up and went up to where the boys were watching me from. And there I saw lots of words on the floor! Got the answer and we went to Henderson Waves for the final answer.

Continued our walk, had a seat whenever we can and reached Faber Peak again. That's where I had this wild idea - Can we just take the Cable Car and go back to Harbourfront instead? Hahahahaha. That was how I was dying that day!

BUT!

Never did I give up! Never! I wanna get better, for myself, for my kids!

In pain everywhere, I still went back down the Marang Trail and finished the whole hike!

Upon arriving at the final point, we got our medals (FINALLY!) - I was too tired to make an issue out of it too, so lucky us they gave each of us the medals. Didn't even had to show our completed game, just had our tags drawn on to ensure that we already collected the medal and other freebies.

Then we went over to Oxhide to redeem our limited piece of their keychain. Papao took the cable holder instead (since we could only redeem one and the other two was key holders). Material was soft though.

We were hungry so we then searched for food to eat and settled for Kopi Korner at Harbourfront Level 1 near Subway. The boys wanted prata and rice so I have to follow through their taste bud coz they were amazing throughout the hike - keeping me up!

So 막내 ordered prata ( he and prata nowadays), Papao wanted Ipoh Hor Fun and I had the Ginger Chicken Set Meal. And we were super disappointed about the dishes. Though their Yuzu drink was nice I admit.

The prata looks like they just mix flour and water to make lempeng while the curry was tasteless (this was what the boys described before I had a taste of it).

The Ginger Chicken Set doesn't taste any ginger but like of normal Chicken Soup. The Ipoh Hor Fun was the only one that was okay, had that taste but doesn't taste like hor fun. Hahahaha. Get what I mean?

But we were hungry so we finished the meals and made our way home by train. I'm proud okay! Though I was tired and dying, I still went home by train! Hahahaha.

Reached home and my body was aching all over while the boys slept through the noon till evening and was hyper all over again.

I died then!

LOL!

But it was such a fun experience as I had to do it with my 2 younger boys this time around. So if you expected me to give a very long feedback, I did when they emailed me to do so. Hahahaha. I was nice in the email though. Believe me okay! Because we got our medals! Hahahaha.

Till the next one boys!
