Lately, I have wanted to spend as much time with the boys over the weekends and I try to find places that are free and accessible by public transport.
This way, I am also keeping myself active and boost up my stamina due to my immune system going haywire half a year ago.
And so I booked a slot to the Children's Museum Singapore on the day I had my appointment at the National Skin Centre because I also want to make full use of my empty days as well.
I wanted to bring all the boys but naaaah~~~
I thought that it would be better to spilt the boys into 2 groups - elder boys and younger boys.
Lil' Junior is going into his pre-teen stage together with BabyK so I'd would love to spend time with them as friends, someone they can share their thoughts freely and also spend time with them in their age appropriate activity such as late night movies and cafe kinda vibes.
While with Lil' Baby aka 오빠 and Lil' Precious aka 막내, they're still in their hyper and enjoyment stage so going to the Children's Museum would be the perfect one for them.
So I had my appointment in the morning, went home after to fetch the 2 younger boys and we head off to City Hall.
We arrived just on time for our slot and managed to start our journey as soon as we arrived. Went in, scanned our QR code for our time-slot and started the journey.

As soon as we entered, it is about time to enter the the Voyage Back in Time Hidden Chamber so we joined in and listened to the Captain as well as WonderBot, journeying back to olden Singapore! I was more excited then the boys were by the way! I'm still young at heart you know! That's why kids love me. Hahahaha.
It's an immersive theatre show with objects coming alive throughout the 15 minutes animation with stories about how Singapore was once upon a time. After which, we were led out into the Ahoy Singapore section and the boys started with their "WOWS!" and "WAAAAAHS!" that I have to keep them calm before letting them be on their way to see whatever they want - because it's Children's Museum right? I am too!
So at Ahoy section, there was a fishing line as well whereby the kids can pretend they were fisherman trying to get their catch of the day. The whole place is like a learning experience in school during Social Studies or History but interactive and ALIVE! Kids nowadays are very lucky indeed! And I am appreciating all these because I can get the boys off from their games, phones and TVs!

The Marketplace was just next to Ahoy Singapore, with void deck shops known to us as Auntie/Uncle shop downstairs. Then they also have the street vendors like the Uncle sell satay, shophouses such as the barbershop, textile shop selling all kinds of textile from all races in Singapore. It even explains how the materials were made and what they were made from. There was also a Herbal Shop which was really engaging where we learn what the herbs were used for and to which, we actually bought the red dates and cooked our own Ginseng Ginger Chicken Soup - the boys loved them eventhough it was only supposed to be meant for ME!
There was also a traditional letter writer where the kids can try out and have fun! And they tried out the clothes washing area saying, "Mummy, we tired." Hahahaha. See how lucky you boys are now that we have the washing machine to wash your clothes! The next time our washing machine breaks down and gives up, you boys now know how to wash your own clothes right. Hehehehe!
Next to The Marketplace, they have My Neighbourhood - returning to current Singapore! They tried the postman bike which we rarely see nowadays and we even sat down for 30 mins at the post office, colouring our stamps! YES! I joined them too because IT WAS FUN and I get to sit down as well! Hahahaha. Tired okay!
We coloured our stamps and scanned it inside the "bots mouth" after to join in the Stamp Parade. Patiently we waited with excitement for our stamp to appear on the huge screen and we squeeked with joy when they did, even when it came out upside down. Hahahaha. The boys were as excited as I was because our stamps were dancing happily upside down! Hahahaha. And we tried again for the second time after and still feeling the same excitement! This had to be one of the best experience we had at the Children's Museum!

We then proceeded to the second floor for the final and Special Exhibition - Into the Hawkerverse! Food time and there are 3 sections too just like at Level 1.
We went back to the Past and the Lil' Precious had time to play hawker, selling me his favourite Chicken Rice as well as glass bottle Coke. Then he tried out the wayang kulit and tried running away from Teh Gu! Teh Gu is a sanitation inspector who conducted raids on and fined unlincensed hawkers back then. He also tried on the fishing man clothes and hat, they fit him perfectly!
Finally we went to the Present & Future section. The boys played hawker again but this time round, with more present food choices and hawker stalls instead with license this time. Hehehehe. No Teh Gu chasing them here.
