How was the lesson on introducing yourself in Korean? Wasn't it easy?
Here's a method for you to learn fast on your own - one that’s immersive, real-world focused, and designed to help you communicate effectively in any situation.
Now, let’s put it into practice by learning how to answer one of the most frequent questions you’ll be getting as a foreigner in Korea:
“Where are you from?”
The trick here is to use a sentence pattern.
저는 사람입니다
(jeoneun saram imnida)
I’m from .
For example:
저는 싱가포르 사람입니다
(jeoneun Singgaporeu saram imnida)
I’m from Singapore.
By adding 사람 (saram), which means 'person', you can easily convey your nationality in a way that’s clear and simple. No more second-guessing or awkward pauses!
Now, you can proudly tell people where you’re from.
This means that you’ll be able to take the conversation one step further - even if you are a complete beginner.
See, you don’t have to know all the words and grammar to have a beginner level conversation with a Korean native. Focusing on learning the elements that move the needle is what makes learning Korean fun and easy.
P.S. So far, you’ve learned to introduce yourself and tell Koreans where you’re from. Next, I’ll teach you how to answer the THIRD most common question Koreans ask of foreigners.
Remember, progress doesn’t have to take hours and hours of rote memorization. Every little step matters, and you’re doing great! So, let’s keep that positive momentum going.
